Cargo Matters has announced an investment of ₹66 crore. They will build an electric vehicle charging network focused on India's freight corridors. This project addresses infrastructure gaps in commercial logistics. The initiative will deploy 360 kW DC fast chargers across South India. These chargers are aimed at supporting both heavy-duty commercial vehicles and passenger EVs.

Partnership with TRYK Charge Services for Deployment

The project is being implemented in partnership with TRYK Charge Services. TRYK will handle deployment and operations of the charging network. The companies plan to install charging stations at fleet depots, bus terminals, and key freight routes. They will also work with electric bus and truck manufacturers to expand access for commercial fleets.

Chargers Compatible with Global Standards

The chargers will be compatible with global standards such as CCS2 and CHAdeMO. AC charging options will also be available. This ensures support for a wide range of electric vehicles operating on freight corridors.

TRYK CEO Comments on the Partnership with Cargo Matter

Kulbhushan Gawande, CEO of TRYK Charge Services, said the partnership will combine charging technology, software integration, and on-ground execution. He added that the deployment of 360 kW chargers will support high-capacity charging requirements for commercial vehicles.

Network Managed Through Advanced Platform

The network will be managed through a Charge Point Operator platform. This enables real-time monitoring and analytics of charging operations. It will support protocols including OCPP 1.6, OCPP 2.1, and OCPI. Cargo Matters also plans to integrate third-party chargers into its platform. This will improve charger utilization and enable additional revenue streams.

RFID-Based Charging Card for Easy Access

To simplify access for users, the companies will introduce an RFID-based charging card. This card will work across the entire network, providing seamless authentication and payment for drivers.
