Mahindra Opens 12-Bay 3S Dealership in Chennai With Sri Selvi Motors
Four years of volume growth in Tamil Nadu, and Mahindra now has a full 3S facility in the city that produces more automotive engineers per square kilometre than anywhere else in India.

Chennai is not a market Mahindra Trucks and Buses has ignored. Tamil Nadu has been one of the stronger-performing states for commercial vehicles over the past three years, driven by port freight, auto sector logistics, and infrastructure spending across the state.
What Chennai lacked, until April 29, 2026, was a dedicated full-service Mahindra Trucks and Buses facility inside the city itself. That changed with the inauguration of a new 3S dealership operated by Sri Selvi Motors Pvt. Ltd. The facility was inaugurated by Vinod Sahay, Chairman of SML Mahindra and President of Mahindra Aerospace, Trucks and Buses.
What the Chennai 3S Facility Covers
A 3S dealership handles sales, service, and spare parts from a single location. That structure matters for fleet operators who buy from the same place they service and source parts. It removes the coordination overhead of dealing with separate sales and service entities, which is a common complaint about older dealer formats in the commercial vehicle segment.
The Chennai facility has 12 service bays and is designed to handle more than 15 vehicles per day. That throughput capacity is meaningful for a city where truck downtime translates directly to missed freight commitments and lost daily earnings.
AdBlue availability and 24-hour breakdown assistance round out the support package. AdBlue availability on-site is a compliance requirement for BS6 Phase 2 diesel trucks. Its absence from a service point creates a planning problem for fleet operators. Having it on-site confirms the facility is equipped for current-spec vehicles.
Mahindra's Dual Service Guarantee
The Chennai facility operates under Mahindra's dual service guarantee, which applies across the BLAZO X, FURIO, OPTIMO, JAYO, and CRUZIO range.
The first guarantee covers road turnaround. If a vehicle cannot be returned to service within 48 hours, Mahindra compensates the operator at Rs 1,000 per day until the vehicle is back on the road.
The second covers workshop turnaround. At any authorised dealer workshop, the guaranteed turnaround time is 36 hours. If that is missed, the compensation is Rs 3,000 per day.
What Mahindra's National Network of 200 3S Dealerships Means
Mahindra Trucks and Buses combined with SML now operates more than 200 3S dealerships and over 400 secondary service touchpoints nationally. The Chennai addition sits inside that network, which means a truck purchased at Sri Selvi Motors can be serviced at any of those 400-plus points across India.
For fleet operators running inter-state routes out of Chennai, this matters more than the local facility alone. A truck running Chennai to Mumbai or Chennai to Hyderabad needs service coverage along the route, not just at the origin. The 400-plus secondary touchpoints are what make that possible at scale.
Vinod Sahay described the network as providing world-class customer care to valued customers, a standard phrase in any inauguration address. The number behind it, 200 full 3S dealerships nationally, is the verifiable commitment that phrase is backed by.
iMAXX Telematics Integration at the Chennai Workshop
The Chennai facility will integrate Mahindra's iMAXX telematics system, which Dr. Venkat Srinivas, CEO of SML Mahindra and Business Head for Mahindra Trucks, Buses and Construction Equipment, described as giving fleet owners complete control over their transport business.
iMAXX provides GPS tracking, driver behaviour monitoring, fuel efficiency data, and remote diagnostics for fleet operators running Mahindra commercial vehicles. At the workshop level, remote diagnostics means the service team can begin understanding a vehicle's fault profile before the truck arrives, reducing the time spent on initial diagnosis and accelerating the 36-hour turnaround guarantee.
