Mahindra Treo Plus 2073 HRT Variant
The Mahindra Treo Plus 2073 HRT variant is a metal-bodied version and is priced at ₹3.78 lakh. It was launched in April 2024 after years of customer feedback. The extra ₹9,000 buys you better structural strength, real protection in heavy monsoon, longer body life over a 5-year ownership window, and a more car-like cabin feel. If you operate in any heavy-rain city, the HRT is the only sensible choice. The body simply lasts longer and resale holds up better.
Mahindra Treo Plus Range, Battery & Motor Specifications
The Treo Plus comes with the biggest battery in this segment — a 10.24 kWh lithium-ion pack, paired with an 8 kW electric motor that delivers 42 Nm of peak torque.
For single-shift drivers, 150 km range of the Treo Plus covers a full day's earning route. For two-shift fleet operations, the charging time is where the concern might arise. A full charge takes 4.5 hours on the included 15A off-board charger, and there's no fast-charge option. Run two shifts and you either need a battery-swap arrangement or accept a midday gap of about 90 minutes for a partial top-up. It's the single biggest operational limitation Mahindra hasn't addressed yet.
Mahindra Treo comes with two driving modes:
1. Economy for maximum range, and
2. Boost for full passenger loads and uphill pulls.
Top speed is capped at 55 km/h, which rules out inter-city or highway sections of your route. Gradeability is 12°, enough for flyovers and most urban climbs but tight on routes with sustained steep hill sections.
The suspension setup is classic commercial-grade. Helical spring with hydraulic shock absorber and damper up front, rigid axle with leaf spring and hydraulic damper at the rear. Durable, predictable, easy to find spares at any roadside garage. Braking is by hydraulic drum on both front and rear (cheap to maintain) but you don't get the stopping power of a front disc setup, which is worth noting if you carry full passenger loads on downhill stretches.
Interior and Cabin Features
The Treo Plus has the longest wheelbase in its category at 2073 mm. Passenger legroom is 465 mm, driver legroom is 345 mm. This is more than most autos in this segment can claim.
Seating capacity is D+3 (Diver and 3 passengers in the backseat). Layout with cushioned bench seats in fabric upholstery.
The driver gets a lockable glove box, a 12V mobile charging socket, bright cabin lights for night pickups, and Hill Hold Assist that stops the auto from rolling back on inclines. Passengers get a roof-mounted grab handle bar.
There's no traditional infotainment system. No touchscreen, no built-in music player. What you do get is the NEMO driver app on your phone, which handles remote tracking of range, charging status, trip economy, and navigation. The Treo Plus carries the AIS156 fire-safety certification on its battery. Most cheap lead-acid e-rickshaws skip this. But Treo Plus doesn't.
The motor is IP67-rated (fully dust and waterproof), which matters in monsoon when half of urban India floods. Hydraulic drum brakes front and rear with a handbrake handle the stops. Hazard indicator, spare wheel, jack, and roadside assistance are standard.

Mahindra Treo Plus Warranty & Insurance
Mahindra offers a 5-year or 1,20,000 km warranty on the Treo Plus (whichever comes first). This covers the vehicle and the battery pack. The off-board charger also has its own separate 3-year warranty with IP67 protection.
