The Mahindra Zeo is Mahindra’s new electric last-mile cargo vehicle designed for urban logistics and delivery businesses. It focuses on low running cost, practical range, and strong payload capability. The vehicle is built mainly to operate in daily delivery routes in cities.

Mahindra Zeo price in India starts at ₹7.88 lakh. This electric mini truck is available in four variants. Two of them are Delivery Vehicles (DVs) that come with a factory-fitted cargo box. The other two are FSD variants offering an open cargo body for flexible loading needs.

Electric Motor and Performance

The Mahindra Zeo EV comes with a 30 kW electric motor. This motor is tuned for commercial applications where torque and pickup are more important than high speed. This setup allows the vehicle to move easily even carrying heavy cargo.

The electric cargo vehicle delivers a top speed of 60 km/h. It also offers 32 percent improved gradeability. Allowing it to climb flyovers and hilly roads with more ease.

The Zeo uses a 21.3 kWh battery pack. The battery comes with an IP67 protection rating, which protects it from dust and water exposure.

The system runs on a 300+ volt high-voltage architecture. This design reduces energy loss during operation. It also improves efficiency and supports faster charging capability.

Mahindra Zeo Driving Range

The claimed driving range of the Zeo is 160 km on a full charge. This range is based on the Mahindra Zeo V2 FSD variant under test conditions.

The actual range can vary depending on cargo weight, traffic conditions, terrain, and driving style.

Gradeability and Driving Modes in Mahindra Zeo EV

Mahindra offers two driving modes in the Zeo:

The first is Eco Mode : This mode focuses on maximizing driving range and improving energy efficiency.

The second is Power Mode : This mode delivers higher power output and maintains the vehicle’s performance under load.

Mahinda Zeo Payload Capacity and Cargo Space

The Zeo is designed to support heavy commercial usage. The vehicle offers a maximum payload capacity of 765 kg.

The Delivery Vehicle variant comes with a 200 cubic feet cargo box. This allows businesses to transport large quantities of goods in a single trip.

Practically Designed Dimensions

The vehicle has a 2500 mm wheelbase. This long wheelbase improves driving stability, especially when carrying heavy cargo.

The Zeo has 180 mm ground clearance. This helps you manage speed breakers, uneven roads, and rough city surfaces.

Advanced Driving Features

Mahindra has designed the Zeo for narrow urban roads. The vehicle offers a tight turning radius of 4.3 meters.

The Zeo includes Creep Mode. This feature allows the vehicle to move slowly at around 8 km/h without constant accelerator input.

The vehicle also uses a smart gear shifter. Since it is an electric vehicle, the system provides smooth gearless driving.

Mahindra Zeo Charging Time and Charging Options

Charging flexibility is one of the major highlights of the Zeo. The vehicle can be charged using a 3.3 kW AC charger through a standard 16A three-pin home socket. A full charge takes around 7 hours and 10 minutes with this setup.

Mahindra also provides a 6.6 kW wall box charger. With this charger, the battery can charge from 0 to 100 percent in about 3 hours and 20 minutes.

The Zeo also supports public fast charging through the CCS2 charging standard. Using a DC fast charger, the battery can charge from 0 to 80 percent in about 71 minutes.

The vehicle can also gain around 100 km of range in about 60 minutes of fast charging.

Safety Features

Mahindra has equipped the Zeo with several safety systems. The vehicle comes with Hill Hold Assist. This feature prevents rollback when the vehicle starts on slopes or flyovers.

The battery system follows AIS038 safety compliance. The battery and motor are both protected with IP67 sealing to ensure durability in real-world conditions.

Optional ADAS and Driver Monitoring System

Mahindra also offers optional safety technologies for the Zeo.

These include Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a Driver Monitoring System (DMS).

These features provide forward collision alerts, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and driver fatigue monitoring. These systems are offered as accessories and are not part of standard equipment.

The Zeo features a walk-through cabin design. It also has plenty of legroom and headroom, making the vehicle more comfortable during long working hours.

Connected Technology – Nemo Universe

Mahindra provides a connected digital app called Nemo. This ecosystem connects the vehicle, the driver, and the fleet operator through digital tools. The Nemo Driver App helps drivers locate nearby charging stations and navigate to them easily.

Fleet operators can use the Fleet Management System to monitor vehicle performance, energy usage, route efficiency, and service schedules. This system also supports vehicle tracking, geolocation, geofencing, and charging pattern insights.

Mahindra Zeo Warranty and Ownership Benefits

Mahindra offers strong ownership coverage for the Zeo. This EV comes with a 3-year or 1,25,000 km warranty. Whichever comes first.

The battery is covered by a 7-year or 1,50,000 km warranty.

Mahindra Uday NXT Program

Mahindra provides additional ownership support for Zeo EV through the Mahindra Uday NXT program. This program includes driver accident insurance coverage of up to ₹20 lakh.

Running Cost of Mahindra Zeo

Mahindra claims strong operating cost savings for the Zeo EV. They estimate annual savings of up to ₹1 lakh compared to diesel cargo vehicles.

Over a 7-year ownership period, total savings can reach around ₹7 lakh, depending on driving patterns and fuel price assumptions.
