Bajaj Auto launched the Bajaj Riki, a new range of electric three-wheelers, with the passenger e-rickshaw priced at ₹1,90,890 and the cargo e-cart at ₹2,00,876 (ex-showroom).

Bajaj Riki e-Rickshaw: Segment-Best Range and Safety

The Bajaj Riki P4005 e-rickshaw is designed to tackle the biggest pain points of drivers. It boasts a certified range of 149 km on a single charge, the longest in its category. Power comes from a 5.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. It addresses safety concerns with a first-in-category hydraulic braking system and an independent suspension with anti-roll bars to prevent toppling. The cabin is also designed for better passenger comfort with more legroom.

Bajaj Riki e-Cart: Built for Higher Cargo Earnings

The cargo variant, the Riki C4005 e-cart, promises even more range at 164 km. It features a large cargo tray that can carry 25% more egg crates or 20% more LPG cylinders than competitors. This model is built on a sturdy monocoque chassis and offers a quick charging time of under four hours to maximize uptime and daily earnings for business owners.

Solving Real-World Problems for Drivers

Bajaj's launch is a direct challenge to the unorganized e-rickshaw market. The Riki models were developed after extensive customer research. They aim to solve common issues like short vehicle life, slow lead-acid battery charging, harsh rides, and limited service support. By leveraging its vast service network, Bajaj offers reliability and a 3-year/60,000 km warranty.

A Strategic Move in a Growing Market

This launch marks Bajaj Auto's entry into the high-volume L3 e-rickshaw segment. The company is applying its decades of three-wheeler expertise to bring organized, engineered, and safer products to a segment that has become crucial for last-mile connectivity across India's cities and towns.

Engineered for Reliability and Higher Income

The Bajaj Riki is more than just a new product; it's a statement. It brings the brand's reputation for durability to the electric last-mile segment, offering drivers a vehicle designed for higher daily earnings, enhanced safety, and a significantly better ownership experience.
