BharatBenz Launches New Intercity Bus BB1924 in India

BharatBenz is targeting India's growing long-distance travel market. It has launched a new heavy-duty intercity bus chassis, the BB1924. This 19.5-tonne vehicle is built to carry more passengers, travel farther, and offer superior comfort on highways.
The BB1924 for Long Routes and High Capacity
The bus is designed for major intercity corridors. It can be configured with up to 51 passenger seats. It also has ample luggage storage space. The goal is to help operators maximize revenue per trip on popular routes like Delhi-Jaipur or Mumbai-Pune.
Powerful and Efficient Engine
At its heart is a robust OM926 diesel engine. It delivers 241 bhp and a strong 850 Nm of torque. This power ensures smooth cruising and easy hill climbs. A 6-speed synchromesh gearbox is tuned for highway driving. A large 380-litre fuel tank gives it an impressive range of over 1,300 km.
Passenger and Driver Comfort Focused BB1924
Ride quality is a key focus. The bus features full pneumatic suspension at both axles. This provides a smooth, comfortable experience over long distances. The driver benefits from cruise control, a modern TFT display, and brake-hold assist to reduce fatigue.
Advanced Safety Systems of BB1924
Safety is a major highlight. The chassis comes with ABS and Electronic Stability Control (EVSC). A 5-stage electromagnetic retarder helps control speed and reduces brake wear by up to 40%. Factory-fitted Michelin tyres add to the overall safety package.
Strong Ownership Support
BharatBenz is backing the bus with comprehensive support. It comes with a 6-year/6 lakh km powertrain warranty. The company promises 95% parts availability within 48 hours. Financing options with attractive interest rates are also available through partner banks.
A New Benchmark for Intercity Travel
The BB1924 is a strategic move by BharatBenz. It directly addresses the demand for safer, more efficient, and higher-capacity intercity buses. For operators looking to upgrade their fleet, it presents a powerful and reliable new option.
