Mahindra Udo Launched at Rs 3.58 Lakh in India with a Unique Look

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility has officially launched its all-new electric three-wheeler, the Mahindra Udo. The introductory price starts at ₹3,58,999 (ex-showroom). The Udo is a ground-up designed L5 category passenger rickshaw built specifically for Indian urban and semi-urban markets.

Mahindra Udo is Built on a Modular Monocoque Platform

The vehicle is developed around a first-in-segment monocoque body. This platform is two times bigger than conventional designs. It features high-strength A-pillars for enhanced safety. The modular architecture also allows for future application flexibility.

Mahindra Udo Powertrain

The Udo is equipped with an 11.7 kWh battery pack. It uses a high-power permanent magnet synchronous motor. The system produces 10 kW peak power and 52 Nm torque. Mahindra claims a certified range of 265 km on a single charge. The real-world driving range is stated at 200 km. This ensures high business uptime for operators.

Three Driving Modes

The vehicle features '3R' drive modes: Range, Ride, and Race. These modes help maximize efficiency based on road conditions. The Udo achieves a top speed of 55 kmph. It also delivers 25.8 percent gradeability for tackling flyovers and steep inclines smoothly.

Mahindra Udo Features

The electric auto comes with an effective regenerative braking system. Mahindra claims it reduces stopping distance by 11.2 meters. Hill hold assist prevents rollbacks on slopes. A unique reverse throttle function allows reversing by twisting the throttle counterclockwise. Creep mode maintains 4-5 kmph speed in traffic without throttle input.

Cabin Comfort and Convenience

The spacious cabin includes a phone mount. It offers USB mobile charging ports for driver and rear passengers. A music system with speaker provision is available. Practical storage includes a bottle holder and dedicated compartment.

Warranty and Support

The vehicle comes with a 6-year or 1.5 lakh km standard warranty. Mahindra also offers free services up to 1 lakh km. The Uday NXT program provides ₹20 lakh accidental insurance for owners. The battery, drivetrain, motor controller, and off-board charger carry an IP67 rating for dust and water protection.

Safety and Performance

Company officials state the Udo is reimagined from the ground up. It aims to move last-mile mobility from survival to dignity. With its combination of range, features, and build quality, the Udo establishes a new reference point in the L5 electric three-wheeler segment.
