The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with leading commercial vehicle aggregator platforms. The agreement was signed at NHAI Headquarters in New Delhi through its subsidiary Indian Highways Management Company Limited.

This initiative aims to enhance safety, efficiency, and user experience for commercial vehicle drivers and fleet operators travelling on National Highways.

Five Aggregator Platforms Partner with NHAI

The MoU was signed with five major logistics platforms. These include WheelsEye Technology India Pvt. Ltd., BlackBuck Ltd., TrucksUp Solutions Pvt. Ltd., TruckSuvidha – Sarvodaya Infotech Pvt. Ltd., and Saffron Navigators Pvt. Ltd. Senior officials from NHAI, IHMCL, and representatives from these platforms attended the signing ceremony.

Rajmargyatra App Integration Enables Real-Time Safety Alerts

Under the collaboration, aggregator platforms will integrate the Rajmargyatra App within their applications. Drivers will receive real-time safety alerts about accident-prone stretches, road diversions, construction zones, stray animals, and adverse weather conditions. The platforms will also promote voluntary user registration on the Rajmargyatra App and share usage insights for system improvement.

Driver-Led Reporting Mechanism Launched

The initiative introduces a driver-led reporting mechanism under the Jan Bhagidari framework. Drivers can now report geo-tagged highway issues such as potholes, damaged crash barriers, non-functional streetlights, and faded road markings. These reports will be integrated into the Rajmargyatra ecosystem for centralized monitoring and timely resolution.

One-Click Access to 1033 Helpline for Emergencies

Aggregator apps will now feature a dedicated Call 1033 button for one-click access to the National Highway Helpline. Drivers consenting to share their geo-location will receive faster ambulance dispatch updates and nearest hospital information.

The 1033 helpline provides 24x7 assistance to road users for both emergency and non-emergency issues across national highway stretches.

Vishisht Saarthi Programme Recognizes Safe Drivers

The Vishisht Saarthi commercial driver recognition initiative will encourage safe and responsible driving practices. Aggregator platforms will identify drivers who demonstrate exemplary compliance with highway safety norms. These drivers will receive certificates and digital badges, reinforcing positive driving behaviour across the trucking community.

Awareness Campaigns to Promote Responsible Driving

The initiative will promote road safety awareness through educational content delivered via aggregator platforms. Drivers will receive guidance on avoiding over-speeding, preventing wrong-side driving, maintaining lane discipline, and prompt use of the 1033 helpline during emergencies. Platforms will track engagement and share participation metrics periodically.

Drivers Can Now Give Feedback on Toll Plazas and FASTag Issues

Aggregator platforms will enable drivers to provide structured feedback on toll plaza operations including waiting times, lane efficiency, pricing, and amenities. Additionally, drivers can report FASTag-related issues such as incorrect toll deductions or delayed transaction postings, which will be escalated for coordinated resolution.
