TrucksUp Signs MoU With NHAI to Enhance Driving Safety
The AI-powered logistics platform will integrate live road hazard alerts and a direct emergency helpline into its app for fleet operators.

If you drive on national highways for a living, you know the drill. Potholes appear without warning. Crash barriers stay broken for months. When something goes wrong, you are on your own. That may start to change now.
TrucksUp, an AI-enabled logistics aggregator, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) through its arm, Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL). The goal is straightforward: make national highway travel safer and more informed for truck drivers and fleet operators.
What TrucksUp Will Now Offer Drivers
Rajmargyatra App
The first major addition is the integration of the Rajmargyatra App into the TrucksUp platform. Once live, drivers will receive real-time safety notifications covering construction zones, accident-prone stretches, diversions, and bad weather conditions, directly while they are on the move.
Geo-Tagged Inputs
The second feature is the ability to report road hazards using geo-tagged inputs. Drivers can flag potholes, damaged crash barriers, and other dangerous spots with GPS-tagged reports. These go into a centralised system where action is then tracked.
Helpline Number
The third change is the addition of "Call 1033", giving drivers a single-tap route to the National Highway Helpline for emergencies and roadside assistance. No more searching for numbers when something goes wrong at 2 AM on a state border stretch.
The Vishisht Saarthi Connection
The MoU also ties into the Vishisht Saarthi program, which recognises drivers who consistently follow safe driving practices. TrucksUp will help promote this initiative through its platform, encouraging responsible driving across its driver and fleet network.
Additionally, TrucksUp will collect and submit structured feedback on FASTag issues, wayside amenity quality, and toll operations to help NHAI improve service standards at toll plazas across the network.
Why This Matters to YOU
You manage costs, schedules, and people all at once. A single road accident, a broken-down truck at an unlit highway, or an unresolved FASTag dispute adds up to real losses. Having live hazard data, a direct emergency line, and a feedback loop with NHAI on the same platform you already use is a practical upgrade, not just a government announcement.
Speaking on the collaboration, Sarthak, spokesperson at TrucksUp, said the partnership is about putting the right information in the driver's hands at the right time to improve both safety and operational efficiency.
What to Watch Next
TrucksUp has not yet announced a rollout timeline for all these features on its platform. Fleet operators who are already on TrucksUp should watch for app updates carrying the Rajmargyatra integration and the 1033 shortcut. This MoU is a framework to build on, and how fast these features reach actual drivers on the ground will determine its real impact.
