Mahindra Pickup Truck Explained
The four Bolero-based Mahindra pickups use the same engine size and a strong ladder-frame chassis. The Veero is newer. It is built on its own platform and has a smaller three-cylinder engine.
Here’s a quick tip for reading model names. The number in a MaXX variant name is roughly its payload in tonnes. A MaXX City 1.4 carries about 1,400 kg, and a MaXX HD 1.7 carries about 1,700 kg. So you can compare Mahindra pickup load capacity just by looking at the name.
Bolero MaXX Pik-Up City
The MaXX Pik-Up City is made for daily trips inside towns and cities. It comes in 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 versions, plus a CNG model. The diesel engine makes 70 hp and 200 Nm. When the range launched in 2023, Mahindra claimed mileage of up to 17.2 km/l. It is shorter than the MaXX HD, so it is easier to turn and park in busy markets.
Mahindra Veero
The Veero’s three-cylinder diesel engine makes 80 hp and 210 Nm. A CNG version is sold in V2 and V4 trims. Mahindra held 49.1% of India’s small pickup segment in FY26, and it expects the Veero CNG to push that share past 50% in FY27. The Veero is also listed in our Mahindra mini truck range.
Bolero Pik-Up
The Bolero Pik-Up is the original Bolero pickup, and Mahindra calls it India’s No.1 pickup brand. In January 2026 it got:
- a new front design
- AC with heater
- a reclining driver seat with headrest
- a wider co-driver seat
Its variant names use short codes:
- MS: manual steering
- PS: power steering
- CBC (cab chassis): comes without a load body, so you can fit your own
- FB (flat bed): comes with a factory-fitted load body
If you are looking for a Mahindra pickup 4x4, the 4WD versions started at ₹9.50 lakh (4WD CBC) at the January 2026 launch. That was before Mahindra raised prices by an average of 2% in July 2026.
Bolero MaXX Pik-Up HD
The MaXX Pik-Up HD is the heavy-duty choice. The diesel comes in HD 1.3, 1.7, 1.7L and 2.0L versions, and there is also an HD 1.9 CNG. The diesel engine makes 80 hp and 220 Nm. GVW goes up to 3,895 kg, and some variants run on larger 16-inch tyres. Mahindra gives a warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh km, whichever comes first.
Bolero Camper
The Bolero Camper is the only Mahindra double cabin pickup on sale today. Its variants are Non-AC 2WD, Non-AC 4WD, Gold ZX, Gold RX and Gold RX 4WD. The January 2026 update added rear seat headrests, body-coloured mirrors and door handles, and a music system with Bluetooth calling. Central locking and rear seat belts are now standard on every variant.

Mahindra Pickup CNG vs Diesel
CNG usually lowers your fuel bill. It works best on fixed daily routes with a CNG pump nearby. The trade-off is a little less pulling power. The MaXX City CNG makes 67 hp and 180 Nm, slightly less than its diesel version.
The MaXX HD 1.9 CNG still carries 1.85 tonnes. It has a 180-litre CNG tank, and Mahindra claims up to 400 km on one fill. Diesel is still the better choice for long highway runs, steep hills and areas where CNG stations are far apart.
iMAXX Connected Technology
Bolero MaXX Pik-Up models and some Bolero Camper variants come with iMAXX telematics. It works through a phone app available in six languages, including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The app has more than 50 features, such as:
- live tracking
- route planning
- geo-fencing
- expense records
- vehicle health alerts
It is most useful for fleet owners who run several pickups.
Mahindra Pickup Price, GST and EMI
The ex-showroom Mahindra pickup price already includes GST. Goods vehicles now pay 18% GST, down from 28% before 22 September 2025. When the cut came in, it brought the Bolero Pik-Up price down by about ₹81,000 in Maharashtra.
For the exact Mahindra pickup on-road price in your city, ask your nearest dealer for a written quote. If you buy on a loan, your EMI depends on the down payment, loan tenure and interest rate. A bigger down payment means a smaller monthly instalment.
Upcoming Mahindra Pickups
Scorpio Lifestyler
Mahindra showed the production version of this double-cab lifestyle pickup on 14 August 2026. It is built on the Scorpio N’s body-on-frame chassis. It is expected in India by April 2027, priced below ₹19.79 lakh (ex-showroom). That is well below the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, which both start above ₹25 lakh. Outside India it will be sold as the Mahindra Lifestyler, but many buyers here still search for it as the Scorpio pickup or Scorpio N pickup.
Electric Veero
Mahindra has confirmed an electric Veero is coming. The Veero platform was designed to run on diesel, CNG or electric power. The launch date and price are not announced yet.
Buying a Second-Hand Mahindra Pickup
Check the emission norm on the RC before you buy. From 1 November 2026, BS-IV goods vehicles registered outside Delhi cannot enter Delhi. BS-VI, CNG, LNG and electric goods vehicles can still enter. This matters if your work takes you into Delhi.
Listings for a “Mahindra Maxx pickup” from around 2007–2010 are for an older model. They are not the Bolero MaXX Pik-Up, which launched in 2023.
