Ashok Leyland Plans to Expand Its Service Network in Western India

Ashok Leyland has announced a major expansion of its service and dealer network across Western India. The company aims to strengthen its presence in Maharashtra and surrounding states. The focus is on improving service accessibility for light commercial vehicle customers.
30 New Service Touchpoints to Be Added Within a Year
The company currently operates 150 service touchpoints in the region. It plans to add 30 new touchpoints within the next year. This will expand the total network to 180 locations across Western India.
Service Coverage Gap to Reduce from 35 km to 25 km
At present, Ashok Leyland's service network ensures coverage every 35 kilometres. The expansion will reduce that interval to one touchpoint every 25 kilometres. This move is designed to better serve operators of its SCV (small commercial vehicle) range.
Region Currently Has 29 Dealer Partners and 350 Technicians
The company currently has 29 dealer partners, 130 service workshops, and more than 350 trained technicians in Western India. The expansion will add to this existing infrastructure, enhancing service capacity.
SCV Business Head Calls Expansion a Game Changer
Viplav Shah, Head of SCV Business at Ashok Leyland, said the expansion will be a game changer for the company. He stated that Western India is a key market and the company remains committed to strengthening its presence there.

Expansion Driven by Growing SCV Demand in Region
The move comes as demand for light commercial vehicles continues to grow in India. Infrastructure development and last-mile logistics expansion are driving this growth. Western India, particularly Maharashtra, has been identified as a high-priority market due to its economic activity and transportation needs.
After-Sales Support to Keep Pace with Sales Growth
Ashok Leyland's SCV portfolio includes vehicles positioned on payload capacity, fuel efficiency, and load area dimensions. The network expansion ensures that after-sales support keeps pace with sales growth in the region.
