Eicher Motors Opens Community Development Centre in Pithampur
Eicher isn't just building trucks in Pithampur. The company just opened a community centre with digital classrooms, a mobile hospital, and support for 459 women-led businesses.

Eicher Trucks and Buses has opened a new Community Development Centre in Pithampur. The centre is called E-CDC. It was set up under the Eicher Group Foundation. The goal is to strengthen social infrastructure around the company's industrial operations. The focus is on long-term community development.
Eicher’s Centre Focus
E-CDC will serve as a hub for communities in and around the industrial area. It aims to improve access to quality education, basic healthcare, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. The centre brings together three key areas of intervention.
Education Program Target
The education program focuses on foundational learning for students in classes 4 to 10. Computer laboratories and digital classrooms will support this effort. The program also works to reintegrate school dropouts. It is expected to help more than 300 children each year.
Women's Empowerment Initiative
In the area of women's empowerment, E-CDC works with 117 self-help groups. The initiative currently supports 459 women-led micro-enterprises. These benefit over 1,000 families. The organization aims to expand this to 500 independent enterprises over time.
Mobile Medical Unit to Serve 3,000 Patients Monthly
A mobile medical unit will provide primary and preventive healthcare services. It will serve surrounding rural and industrial towns. About 3,000 patients are expected to receive healthcare services each month through this unit.
Centre Complements Existing Skill Development Academy
The new centre will supplement existing programs in the region. These include the Eicher CII Skill Development Academy. That academy focuses on training young people and connecting them with job opportunities.
Company Official Comments on the Initiative
Bhagwan K. Bindiganavile, EVP of Strategic Planning, Brand & Communications at VE Commercial Vehicles, said the company views the project as a long-term obligation. He stated that Eicher is committed to supporting the socio-economic growth of the region. The centre is built as a scalable model that can be replicated in other areas.
