Tata Motors Gets Orders for Over 5000 Buses from STUs Across India

Tata Motors has secured cumulative orders for more than 5,000 buses and bus chassis from multiple State Transport Undertakings across India. The orders were won through competitive e-bidding under the government procurement system. They will be executed in phases as agreed with the respective state transport bodies.

Multiple STUs Across India Place Bulk Orders

The orders come from several state-run transport agencies. These include Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation and Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation. North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and Telangana State Road Transport Corporation are also part of the list.

Bihar State Road Transport Corporation, Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation, and Kerala State Road Transport Corporation have placed orders. Haryana Roadways and Chandigarh Transport Undertaking have also participated in the procurement.

Range of Bus Models and Chassis Covered

The orders cover multiple passenger mobility platforms from Tata Motors' portfolio. These include Tata Magna, Tata Cityride, Tata Starbus, and Tata Starbus Prime. Bus chassis such as Tata LPO 1618, Tata LPO 1622, and Tata LPO 1822 are also part of the supply.

The buses are configured for different operations. They handle intercity, long-haul, and intracity routes. They are designed to deliver reliable performance and operating efficiency across varied duty cycles.

Company Executive Comments on the Achievement

Anand S, vice president and head of commercial passenger vehicle business at Tata Motors, spoke about the orders. He said this recognition by multiple STUs reflects the deep trust placed in Tata Motors' mobility solutions.

He stated that the buses are designed to deliver comfort, safety, and long-term reliability across varied terrains and duty cycles. With strong product engineering and a lifecycle support ecosystem built around customer uptime, the company continues to enable STUs to serve millions of passengers every day.
